How Professional Epoxy Solves Basement Moisture
1. Moisture Testing
Before we install any basement floor, we test the concrete for moisture vapor transmission (MVT) using calcium chloride tests. This tells us exactly how much moisture is passing through the slab and determines the right system for your floor.
2. Moisture-Mitigating Primer
For basements with high MVT, we use a specialized moisture-mitigating epoxy primer that's designed to bond to concrete with high moisture levels. This creates a barrier that stops vapor from reaching the decorative layers.
3. Seamless, Non-Porous Surface
Unlike tile, carpet, or wood, epoxy creates a completely seamless, non-porous surface. Moisture can't penetrate it, mold can't grow on it, and spills clean up with a mop. There are no grout lines, seams, or joints where moisture can collect.

There may be an additional prep charge of $1-3 per square foot depending on how much material needs to be removed.
